Read project story ↗The business need
An existing product is usually preferable when its processes closely match yours and its provider meets your security, data, support and budget needs. Custom software earns its place when a defining workflow cannot be supported without expensive manual workarounds.
What Valron considers
Compare initial implementation, subscription growth, customisation limits, integration costs, data portability, staff training, reporting flexibility and operational dependency. Trial the most important user tasks with real staff before selecting an approach.
Implementation and operating requirements
Even custom software uses external services. Payment providers, messaging, identity, cloud hosting and reporting tools should be selected based on maintainability and exit paths. Contracts should state responsibilities for licences, backups and support.
Evidence and context
A project like BooksFirst illustrates the value of custom processes where inventory, events and multiple operating environments need to connect. That does not mean custom development is always the right choice for smaller organisations.
We'll review the exact workflows and dependencies before committing to scope, cost or delivery dates. You can start with a short message; there is no need to prepare a formal software specification.
